We employ human beings to produce your work and, last time we checked, humans are not perfect -- not to mention all computers are slightly different and files may read differently on our end then they did on yours. Your approval on the final proof is assurance that you have looked over every aspect of our work (fonts, text flow, photo quality, etc.) and approve it as accurate. It benefits everyone if errors are caught in the proofing process rather than after the job is completed and delivered.
- Do I still need to approve a proof if I bring my work in on disk?
With ANY file you send us, whether it be on disk, via email, or through our FTP site, a proof is always a good idea. If you are providing us with a file (especially a PC file) and we don't have your fonts, or have a different version of your software, then your fonts and text flow may change. It is essential that if you are not able to view a proof that you send us a hardcopy of what you expect the final printout to look like so we can match it as closely as possible. Keep in mind that if we do not have your fonts we may need to substitute with another. We will let you know if this is necessary. Please review the file requirement sheet attached for more details.
